A lifelong Unity member, now in year 24 in this community, and of age, I greet you with gratitude and intention.
My name is Aidan Doña, and I am an active member, a Youth of Unity (YOU) and Uniteen Sponsor, and Next Generation of Unity leader at Unity In Lynnwood.
I am proudly a founding member, board member and operational director of the Next Generation of Unity (NGU) Expansion Ministry under Unity Worldwide Ministries, a program that has existed under the same name since 2000, and longer under other names. A program that exists to support young adults, ages 18-40, and build a community that some ministries cannot fulfill, as well as offer a pipeline for our youth congregants to move into our adult congregations.
I recently did the math and I have attended over 50 retreats and events for our Youth and Young Adult programs, many of which I have helped lead.
With all of these hats I have a greater commitment to the future of our movement, the support and opportunities it can give its youth and young adults, and the impact it has on their lives and the community around them.
I grew up at Seattle Unity learning the importance of service and generosity, both from my family and our youth programs. I had the pleasure of hearing from the late great Rev. Richard Levy every Sunday, and later Rev. Karen Lindvig, while preparing meals to serve to congregants after every service. Unity has blessed my life and I have dedicated myself right back to it. When the time is right I will take this to the next step and follow one of Unity's credentialing paths.
I love to teach people about managing expectations, the processes in which we reflect and learn, and how to be practical with spirituality.
Personally I live the life of a social young adult, playing video games, hiking the Pacific Northwest, and exercising my creativity with computer programming and by building things.
I have a degree in IT, specifically in Cybersecurity and work a very flexible corporate IT job where I solve problems, maintain company security, and manage policy and documentation.
